Everything I've built — the AI system underneath, the small tools around it, and a few quieter corners.

Case study — Night Room

A nightly companion app, built as one continuous act of craft. What's interesting isn't what it tracks — it's how it was made.

A design system with teeth

The room keeps canonical hours — closer to an illuminated manuscript than an app. Its design system is a closed set: a warm parchment-and-espresso palette where gold is candlelight and rust is the only heat, one accent per card, never two. Two binding rules govern every page: the Living Surface Rule (a page at rest still drifts and glows) and the Visual Rhythm Rule (no two adjacent sections may read the same). Agents that build on the room read the system first — pattern-matching from neighboring pages is explicitly forbidden.

The meridian clock

A full-screen timepiece that renders the traditional Chinese organ clock — which meridian carries the hour, where the day's energy sits — alongside focus sessions. Time-of-day awareness runs through the whole room; the clock is where it becomes the interface itself.

The sky canvas

An animated canvas background that tracks the real sky — day, sunset, night — painted procedurally rather than swapped from static images. Ambient motion is a design requirement here, not decoration: it's what makes a hand-built page feel inhabited instead of generated.

The teachings deck

A card deck of 350 teachings — fifty themes, each answered by seven wisdom traditions. Affirm or set aside each card, and the system synthesizes what you kept into a personal codex. A small study in how an interface can hold contemplative material without flattening it into content.

The room itself is a private, single-person surface. The live demo above is a data-free tour — the craft, without the contents.
